This colorful and engaging session explores the concept of digging beneath the surface. The Greeks were steeped in physicality and idolized shallow values, whereas Judasim encourages us to elevate physicality for more spiritual purposes. We often judge people by their looks, and forget that there may be more to the story beneath the surface. The Torah teaches us to never take things at face value. In order for relationships to be everlasting, they must be rooted in deep values, not just in shallow looks. Judaism also teaches us to infuse our eating and our clothing with deeper meaning. Underneath everything in this world is a deep spiritual meaning, just waiting for us to uncover it.
