Torah Sources

  • Aspaklaria – The entire Aspaklaria, an encyclopedia on Jewish thought, is available online. The encyclopedia cites all of the main sources on each major topic in Jewish thought.
  • Mechon Mamre has Hebrew-English translation of all of Chumash (the translation is VERY dated, so it may need some editing). They have also begun working on a translation of Rambam.
  • Halacha Brura is a collection of commentaries on all of the Aggadita in Shas organized according to the page in the Gemorah. This site can serve as an great way to find added insight in a passage of Talmud you may be presenting.
  • Sefaria.org offers a free English translation for many sources (including Mishna and Talmud), and the ability to easily create your own Hebrew sourcesheets. Also see the Beta Midrash App
  • Hebrewbooks.org
  • Otzar HaHochma
  • Olamot is a website created by R’ Tzvi Reisman of Los Angeles to help facilitate in depth learning. On the website you can find outlines for hundreds of topics.
  • A google doc of all free primary Jewish Sources and Resourced on the Internet

  • Chinuch.org has many great lesson plans and educational resources.
  • The Lookstein Center has classroom activities, lesson plans, multimedia, and more.
  • Ner L’Elef has many fantastic resources including booklets on each parshah, essential questions, and a host of materials for outreach education. Make sure to check out the Ner LeElef Booklets.
  • Morasha Syllabus – a 120-part curriculum to introduce Jewish students to the most fundamental aspects of Judaism, Jewish History, and Jewish life. Available in English, French, Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

  • Transliterate Hebrew – This online tool will automatically transliterate Hebrew into English. You can even choose the type of transliteration: Ashkenazi, Sefardi (advanced), Sefardi (simplified), or technical.

  • Ner LeElef’s Thinking Gemara Series presents a series of contemporary cases and dilemmas addressed by a guided presentation of the sugiya by Gemaras, Rishonim and Achronim using English – Hebrew (menukad) sources.
  • The Halacha Education Center offers halachic curricula geared for high school classroom instruction or adult learning initiatives, on a range of topics including Hilchot Kashrus, Hilchot Shabbat, V’Halachta Bidrachav, and Shemitta.   • The Gemara Card – A tri-folded laminated Aramaic reference card containing frequently used terms and abbreviations and other relevant niformation, designed to make Talmud study easier and more eccessible.
